Service Dog Placements

Service Dog Placements

Xolos can make excellent service dogs for a countless array of reasons. For example: their tight bond to their owners makes them more aware of their owner’s needs. Because Xolos have a primitive nature, they are very alert and aware of their surroundings. Also because of their primitive nature, most Xolos won’t approach strangers so they don’t need to be trained to ignore those around them.

Many of our Xolos have good temperaments for Service Dog Placements. When placing service dogs there are many things we factor into consideration, including but not limited to:

  • The needs required by the potential new owner
  • Alertness of Dog
  • Sociability or Aloof-ness of Dog
  • Energy Level of Dog
  • Physical Capabilities of Dog to perform necessary tasks

Both coated and hairless Xolos make excellent Service Dogs. We have noticed that coated Xolos typically are more social, which can be a benefit when looking for a service dog placement.

Different breeders or owners of Xolos will have different opinions regarding Xolos as service dogs. Many factors of whether or not a Xolo will be suitable as a service dog is influenced by bloodlines. Therefore, while we can tell you what about our bloodline of Xolos, their temperaments and abilities, it does not necessarily mean other breeders or their Xolos are the same.

This is Diesel, he is a fantastic service dog to a young girl apart of the StoneyBrooks Team. He loves to go places, especially when a lot of walking is involved.
